This World First Gold Plated Porsche is coated with gold LEAF actually, not gold plate. One booklet of 100 sheets of 3.5″ x 3.5″ gold leaf (24 carat) may not cost more than $60-$100 US. In one of the picture, a technician has applied about 25 sheets of gold leaf to the left front fender. Assuming that it takes 100 sheets to coat the entire fender, and one fender equals about 10% of the surface area of the car, I think it will cost not more than $1000 to finish the gold leaf on the car.
